Yeah, I’m that guy who used to post about chickens every week. Well, it’s been a tough fall, but it’s almost over. Usually I’d take the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas off, but since I’ve been so unreliable the last few months, I’ll try to post a couple of new podcasts before the year is over. Then hopefully in the new year I can get back on track. In the meantime, I can explain any number of obscure philosophers’ ideas on aesthetics, if you’re interested.
If you’re not, but are interested in chickens, here’s a good beginner video, even though if you’re here, you may already be chickening. But maybe not!
Due to a frog in my throat, I was unable to record this week. Will it clear up soon? I sure hope so. I don’t eat animals, and I’m afraid I might swallow this one by accident.
In the meantime, enjoy this video a friend shared on my Facebook wall.
Well, I’m slowly regaining control of my life (at least until my final project is due), but not so much that I’ve been productive on the chicken front. Let’s see how this weekend goes. In the meantime, please enjoy this video about breaking the law (chicken-style).
This is slightly different video about breaking the law:
Due to some syllabus snafus, I have been in the midst of my midterm project for the last two weeks. (It was allegedly due a week ago, but we had not been instructed on what to actually do or how to turn it in, so it got extended). This has engulfed any free moment I have. I swear there will be new podcasts soon. In the meantime, enjoy this video, and see if you can find the clip that embodies why my mother-in-law will not abide roosters in our flock.
Let’s hope I can make the most of this long weekend and get caught up on tales of chickenry. In the meantime, see how many of these 10 facts are new to you.
It looks like I took an unintended vacation this week. I’m still a little wiped out from classes (one of which just ended this week). To tide you over, here’s a few of the chickens practicing some good dirt hygiene. That’s Steve and John, plus a cameo by a Mandrell Sister.
In the last week I had to direct two scenes, one of which I videotaped, and am currently editing, and write a paper. This was all for one class. My other class’ work was all due today, and I just handed it in. Oh, and I work full time. Suffice to say, I was too busy to talk chicken. However, to give you an example of the amount of work involved in my video, here’s a small sample of what I’ve been doing. I have to draw each frame individually, and it takes about an hour to cover not quite a minute of footage. It may be another long weekend, but look at the results!
This paper is killing me, and as you may have guessed, it’s eaten my chicken time again. But it’s due Monday, and then I’m free again, for a little while. In the meantime, you already say The Natural History Of Chickens, how about taking a look into The Private Life Of Chickens?
My class is almost over, but it’s final paper time, so I’ve been working on that instead of thinking about chicken stories. But only 1 week to go! In the meantime, enjoy this video about Silkies, a breed of chickens I haven’t owned, but would like to someday.
Too Many Homeworks! So no new podcast this week. Just wait until summer when I’m taking three classes!
In the meantime, here’s a lovely short film about two boys raising a couple of chickens in Belfast during The Troubles. (There’s a bit of salty language, but it’s in an Irish accent, therefore charming.)
